During the search for and subsequent importation of Ali Baba form Portugal Jody was instantly captivated by the Lusitano breed. The horses she saw in Portugal were something so special - their work ethic, their power and their intelligence were not something she had seen reproduced time and time again in any breed she had come across in her lifetime with horses around the world.
So once Ali Baba settled in to his new home on the far side of the globe Jody returned to his homeland to purchase two top quality mares to join him at the stud with the aim of breeding the best quality Lusitano horses ever seen in the Southern Hemisphere.
Jody also managed to secure a one year lease of the mare Bahama from Mystery Creek Lusitanos which resulted in the filly Jamaica Cruzeiro Do Sul being born. She is now one of Jody's competition horses and will enter the breeding program as well.
Also from Mystery Creek Lusitanos came the mare Fernandina whom was used several years running by the stud before being on-sold.
In March of 2021 there was a further exciting development at the stud farm with the importation from Belgium of the stunning double dilute mare June De Corbeaux. With June comes the promise of foals of palomino and buckskin hue - so watch this space!
